PCA treats proficiency testing as one of the basic elements to demonstrate the technical competence of accredited laboratories. Laboratories must participate in proficiency testing every four years in every area in which they are accredited.
Laboratories should have policies on participation and use of proficiency testing as a tool of external quality control. Politics and necessary arrangements for planning, participation, performance analysis, corrective actions, records and storage should be documented in the Quality Systems and Procedures or other documents relevant to the laboratory.
PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 requires laboratories to have quality control procedures to ensure continuous monitoring of the validity of the results of testing / calibration supplied to customers. One of the important tools for this monitoring is to participate in proficiency testing.
In connection with this project SPOWKP/1.1.2/183/032 has been developed methodology and a system of interlaboratory comparisons for calibration laboratories in the field of measurement of electrical quantities.
